We have taken part in three surveys of how AI is used in the Finnish health and social care system. During them we have interviewed dozens of researchers, clinicians, data management specialists and executives. Among other things, we have asked what has happened to the models they developed.

Invinite at the Finnish Health Data Hackathon 2026: Data as Software in practice

In January 2026, Invinite took part in the Finnish Health Data Hackathon. We joined the Care Plans track focused on testing, where we explored whether a Data as Software approach could be used to test and validate synthetic FHIR data, both structurally and in terms of how realistic the data is.

AI models developed in Finnish research often go unused because nothing is in place to evaluate, develop and maintain them. We propose a national model registry, a follow-up path for research innovations, shared infrastructure, and clear governance and incentives.
